Lauren Foster, OTD, OTR/L
Lauren is a native Nashvillian that graduated from Belmont’s Doctorate of Occupational Therapy program in May 2014. Lauren’s culminating project for completing her doctoral degree involved developing a curriculum for an inclusive after-school program for preschool age children diagnosed with Autism and Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder. She received a scholarship from the Vanderbilt Leadership Education in Neurodevelopmental and Related Disabilities (LEND) program, with the purpose of reducing and preventing neurodevelopmental disabilities in children. Her pediatric clinical rotation was here at Vanderbilt Children's Hospital (VCH) in the pediatric and neonatal intensive care units (PICU/NICU) where she worked with pediatric patients with diverse diagnoses. Lauren has been employed part time at VCH since May of 2016 in the acute care setting. Lauren has been providing services for Word of Mouth Clinical Associates/Eppert Occupational Therapy in both the private school and clinic settings since July of 2014. Her clinical experience includes assisting children with self-regulation and emotional control, and working with fine motor, visual motor, and visual perception skills with preschool and elementary age children. Lauren has a heart for children and is passionate about working as a pediatric occupational therapist.
During her free time, Lauren enjoys outdoor activities, travel, barre classes, reading, and spending time with her family and friends. She is truly grateful to be a therapist at Word of Mouth/Eppert OT and loves being a part of such a talented and compassionate team.
