About

Lynne Robertson has been practicing in Nashville in the field of Speech-Language Pathology for over thirty years. She holds a Master's Degree in Speech-Language Pathology from Memphis State University. She is certified by the American Speech, Learning, and Hearing Association and licensed by the state of Tennessee. Lynne has specialized in the evaluation and treatment of pediatric communication disorders in the Middle Tennessee area since 1985.

After receiving her Master's Degree, Lynne began her professional career as a pediatric Speech-Language Pathologist with Nashville Memorial Hospital. As the Director of the Speech Pathology Department, Lynne established the inpatient swallowing program, an audiology diagnostic center, and a class for preschoolers with language disorders. She participated as a volunteer for the Nashville Exchange Club Center for the Prevention of Child Abuse prior to serving on the state advisory board for the establishment of the Tennessee Early Intervention System (TEIS) and as President of Saddle Up!, a therapeutic riding program for children ages 4-18 with physical or cognitive challenges.

In 1992, Lynne began a practice to provide therapy to preschoolers with disorders of speech and language, with an emphasis on serving children with severe communication impairments. She also served as President of the Nashville Chapter of the Council for Learning Disabilities, an international organization for professionals concerned about issues related to children with learning disabilities.

Currently, Lynne is the owner and director of Word of Mouth Clinical Associates, which grew out of Lynne Robertson and Associates, a practice Lynne began in 2006. This practice centers around the conviction that children should receive therapeutic services that exceed the normal expectations while still enjoying their experience. Lynne believes strongly that if a child connects with his clinician, he will progress more quickly, feel great about his accomplishments, and love coming to speech!
